
During the first quarter of 2025 (January to March), ComReg had a range of news for consumers that included some of the following topics:
We informed consumers about
- using a battery back-up device in severe weather;
- their choices for paper or electronic bills;
- our role to provide independent information on mobile and broadband services.
We advised consumers
- to visit our stand at The Holiday Show in Limerick;
- to visit our stand at The 50 Plus Show in Dublin;
- on checking which price plans do not have annual price increases on ComReg Compare.
In terms of research and reports we published
- an Information Notice on Accessibility of Electronic Communications Services;
- the Irish Text Relay Service usage report for 2024;
- Q4 Consumer Care Statistics with details of issues raised by consumers who contacted ComReg’s Consumer Care team from October to December 2024.
We sought your views on
- our consultation on proposals for implementing a Customer Charter for providers of internet and phone services;
- a consultation on ComReg’s 2025-2027 Strategy Statement.
Our compliance work resulted in
- An Post refunding a total amount of over €25,000 to 4,700.
