ComReg reminds consumers that calls to 1850, 1890, 0818, and 076 numbers are now included in call bundles that have inclusive calls to landlines. Out of bundle calls are charged at the Standard Rate, which is no more than the cost of calling a landline. Calls to 1800 remain free.
These numbers are called Non-Geographic Numbers (NGNs). Future changes mean that after next year – from 1 January 2022 – the number of NGN ranges will reduce from five to two. The 1850, 1890 and 076 ranges will be withdrawn and only the 1800 Freephone and 0818 Standard Rate ranges will remain in use.
