During the fourth quarter of 2024 (October to December), ComReg had a range of news for consumers that included some of the following topics:
We informed consumers about
- entering into a contract for phone or broadband services;
- Service Provider complaints procedures and Code of Practice;
- finding the best Black Friday and Cyber Monday deals;
- the latest posting dates for Christmas delivery;
- having a battery back-up device during winter;
- the operating hours of our Consumer Care team to offer advice and information over Christmas and New Year.
We advised consumers
- to visit our stand at The 50 Plus Show in Limerick;
- to be vigilant against scams during the festive season.
In terms of research and reports we
- published Q3 Consumer Care Statistics with details of issues raised by consumers who contacted ComReg’s Consumer Care team from July to September 2024.
We sought your views on
- our consultation on Missed and Delayed Service and Installation Appointments;
- a consultation on ComReg’s 2025-2027 Strategy Statement, open for responses until 5pm on Friday, 14 February 2025.
Our compliance work resulted in
- Three Ireland refunding 14,000 customers a total amount of approximately €3.76m in roaming charges.
