Division overview 

The Corporate Services Team

The Corporate Services Division develops and implements corporate affairs and communications strategies designed to enhance our organisational performance and effectiveness. It is a key function, supporting all other Divisions across ComReg in the areas of Human Resources, Finance, Information Technology, Public Relations, and Facilities Management.

The role and responsibilities 

This role will reporting to the IT Security Manager and will have responsibility for the following:

• Analyse and maintain ComReg’s security systems and seek improvements on a continuous basis. (NIST, NIS2, ISO27001, GDPR)

• Working with the IT Security Manager and the IT Security Administrator to maintain all IT Security policies and procedures and to ensure best practices and security standards for the organisation

• As a member of the IT Security Incident Management Team, providing triage and information on IT security and incident alerts. Reviewing incoming threat alerts from 3rd party partners and working with the Security Team on advising on a best practice response.

• Assisting in work with partner Service Providers and colleagues to implement security by design within organisational technology projects led by IT

• Scheduling and overseeing Code Reviews, Vulnerability Assessments and Penetration testing as required with partner service providers

• Support operational management of key security platforms including – Palo Alto, MS Sentinel, MS Defender, MS Intune, Purview & MS Entra

• Reviewing daily/monthly security reports and highlighting any anomalies for further investigation by the team

Qualifications and Experience required

Essential 

• Third Level qualification in related field such as Computer Science, Cyber security and Computing technology.

• Proven experience working as an L2 resource familiar with supporting an enterprise environment and at least some exposure to IT Security related service focus with a familiarity and understanding of a best practice SIEM Solution/Vulnerability Management Tools

• Experience working within a Microsoft Enterprise level environment

• Ability to investigate security alerts to understand the root cause, being able to communicate the issue to the relevant stakeholders and identify whether the alert is a false/positive or a live issue

• Strong documentation management skills appropriate to an audited regulated environment

• Critical thinking skills and the ability to solve problems as they arise. Particularly in relation to infrastructure and bespoke applications secure design input.

• Strong proven ability to prioritise work items and work independently

• Experience and comfort working in a fast-paced environment and distilling large volumes of information to be actioned or escalated

• Excellent communication skills (both to technical and non-technical colleagues)

Desirable 

• Certifications such as CompTIA Security +/CYSA+, MS Certified Security (i.e. SC900) and an understanding of the application of Security Standard frameworks such as NIST, NIS2, ISO 27001 would be advantageous

• Experience working with third party IT Service providers

• Knowledge and understanding of Incident management response

• Salary €61,000.02 – €84,242.92 (Pay increases will be awarded annually subject to satisfactory performance)
