The most rewarding aspect of my role must be the way that we work for the benefit of society.
I am a Radio Frequency Testing Engineer in the Market Framework Division and joined in 2017. I have a degree in Engineering and a master’s in engineering management.
Our Division is responsible for Ireland’s radio spectrum, the management of Ireland’s National Numbering Scheme, and we report on operator’s network failures. My team is open minded, professional, experienced, and flexible. We engage with the market and stakeholders to provide support and ensures that society has reliable connectivity and can access secure, high-quality services.
Day to day my role is varied and can include drafting documents, researching, collecting information. Attention to detail and analytical skills are key competencies required in my role.
The most rewarding aspect of my role must be the way that we work for the benefit of society.
Working in a fast-paced industry with new technologies and applications, brings challenges, however it also brings new opportunities for learning. ComReg has helped me to develop by providing training and educational assistance, coupled with constructive feedback and guidance from my managers and senior colleagues. In addition to the technical skills I have acquired, I have been supported to develop my soft skills such as communication, problem solving and planning.
ComReg is a supportive and positive environment, which includes wellbeing initiatives, educational support, training, and coaching or mentoring. Flexibility and having a good work/life balance is also encouraged.
ComReg has a culture of collaboration, and has a positive and safe working environment, where people can work and be themselves.
ComReg is a great place to work due to the culture where everyone is friendly and respectful. I enjoy the development support, the diversity of both organisation and projects, and the opportunity I have to progress and grow in my career.
