Leonie, Consumer Policy Senior Manager

I am a Consumer Policy Manager in the Retail Division, and act as an economic advisor on project matters.  Since joining ComReg in 2001, I have held a variety of roles and progressed to senior manager level.

My division is at the forefront in protecting, informing, and empowering consumers so they can choose and use communications services with confidence. I oversee activities of the Consumer Policy team who ensure consumer measures are appropriate. Leading a team of economists and analysts, we formulate policy and make recommendations on consumer protection issues. We also contribute to external networks and forums.

I find my role rewarding and enjoyable as I can shape policy and inform the practice of economics in electronic communications regulation thereby contributing to a greater understanding of the sector.

In my role, I have led complex projects, design regulatory solutions which bring benefits to end users, and I’ve had the opportunity to engage at a European level. Some aspects of my role can be challenging such as multitasking, working cross functionally, leading complex projects simultaneously under time pressure, however, I enjoy that no two days are the same.
