Support people with Cancer and their families

Provision of services and support for people with Cystic Fibrosis in Ireland

Cancer support services

We provide essential support services for people who are homelessness, women and children experiencing domestic abuse and older people.

The Children's Grief Centre provides a free support service to children and young people aged 4 to 18 years who are affected by loss through bereavement or separation.

Lakers provides sports, educational, arts and social activities for just over 300 people with in intellectual disability. We are open 6 days a week and offer about 60 different activities to our members with special needs aged 5 to 70. Funds raised will keep our club afloat and support our activities during the cost of living crisis.

We support people who have been diagnosed with a brain tumour and their families and carers

The Dyslexia Association of Ireland works with and for people affected by dyslexia by providing information, offering appropriate support services, and raising awareness of dyslexia. Dyslexia is a specific learning difficulty which affects the acquisition of fluent and accurate reading and spelling skills; approx. 10% of the population is affected.

To provide support to all those affected by farm accidents and traumas

Family Carers Ireland is the national charity supporting the 500,000+ family carers across the country who care for loved ones such as children or adults with additional needs, physical or intellectual disabilities, frail older people, those with palliative care needs or those living with chronic illnesses, mental health challenges or addiction.

GRCC is dedicated to providing a professional, caring and confidential counselling and support service for those in our community affected by sexual abuse and sexual violence. We also work towards ending cultural and societal tolerance of sexual violence through advocacy, awareness raising and education programmes.

We are making the 10th anniversary of the ICE Bucket Challenge and we are hoping to raise funds to support those living with MND. The Irish Motor Neurone Disease Association (IMNDA) is the only organisation of its kind in this country. It was set up in May 1985 to provide care and support to people with Motor Neurone Disease, their carers, families, and friends. There are currently over 450 people living with MND in Ireland. MND is often referred to as the 1,000 day disease as most people die within 1,000 days of being diagnosed. Our key services include: o Home visiting by our six MND Nurse Specialists o Financial assistance towards home care o Providing specialist medical equipment free of charge to our clients o Assistance towards counselling, travel to and from medical appointments, recharge grant and voice banking grant (these new additional services are a result of Charlie Bird Development fund) o Supporting research into the causes and treatments of MND o Freefone Information support line for clients and families The Association relies heavily on fundraising activities from our members and supporters. We need to raise over 85% of our overall income. It costs approx. 2.4 million to run the Association each year.

GCN (Gay Community News) is Ireland's longest-running national LGBT+ publication and a not-for-profit registered charity. GCN is owned and published by the National Lesbian and Gay Federation (NLGF Ltd). This will be an ONGOING CAMPAIGN for GCN.

To benefit the community by enabling persons in Waterford and South East and the surrounding area as well as elsewhere who are experiencing feelings of distress or despair, including those who may be at risk of suicide, to receive confidential emotional support at any time of the day or night in order to improve their emotional health and to reduce the incidence of suicide and promote a better understanding in society of suicide, suicidal behaviour and the value of expressing feelings which may otherwise lead to suicide or impaired emotional health
