Equipment Compliance

All electrical and electronic equipment placed on the market must be compliant with the Electromagnetic Compatibility Directive, while radio equipment must be compliant with Radio Equipment Directive.

These Directives are transposed into Irish law as Regulations, which give ComReg, through its Spectrum Intelligence and Investigations section, the power to prosecute those placing non-compliant equipment on the market.

Spectrum Intelligence and Investigations also works with Customs & Excise to prevent non-compliant equipment from entering the State.

All electronic equipment should have a “CE” mark and radio equipment should additionally have a Declaration of Conformity included in its packaging.
