What Broadband information should my Internet Service Provider include as part of my contract?

Under EU rules, internet service providers are legally required to include information in consumer contracts relating to:
the minimum, normally available, maximum and advertised download and upload speed of fixed networks;
the estimated maximum and advertised download and upload speeds of mobile networks;

  • the remedies available to the consumer where there is a relevant discrepancy regarding speed or other quality of service parameters;
  • any traffic management in use, including details of any measures applied that could impact on the quality of the service, on the privacy of the consumer and on the protection of their personal data.
  • This information is to be provided in a clear, comprehensible and comprehensive manner. This means that the information provided should be clear and meaningful and should be up to date.
