Eircom Limited Pays €2.8m Penalty, High Court Case Struck Out

On Wednesday 3 April 2025, ComReg’s enforcement action against Eircom Limited (2022/211 MCA: Commission for Communications Regulation v Eircom Limited)  was brought to a successful conclusion when the matter was formally struck out after Eircom paid a sum of €3 million to ComReg. This followed a settlement agreement between ComReg and Eircom in November 2024 where Eircom had acknowledged regulatory breaches related to access, non-discrimination, and transparency in respect of the provision of Passive Access Records for Civil Engineering Infrastructure to other telecoms operators and agreed to pay €2.8 million in penalties and a €200,000 contribution towards ComReg’s legal costs.
