Climate Change and Communications Networks Resilience

A recent study commissioned by ComReg, considers climate change and its effect on the resilience of telecoms networks and highlights areas for further improvement.

Frontier Economics were commissioned to undertake the study. The findings are informed by engagement with key telecommunications stakeholders and inputs from climate experts in Climate Ireland and Met Éireann. The study provides information on the positive steps that operators are already taking to meet both current and future impacts of climate change. The study also highlights three main areas of focus for further improving the resilience of communication networks in light of climate change.
